Boy we could use Timmy back.That said I'd like to see a solid checker/defense first d-man brought in.Young if possible.Long term as well.Main reason beyond this year is the fact that we will never resign Aucoin/Janne/ and Hammer next year.Aucoin MUST be the given.Janne and Hamrlik IMO will each ask for 4.5-6mil w/ Hamrlik asking higher.We will never resign both so might as well address what will be a shortage for next year as well as what has become a shortage this year w/ Martinek's injury... Move a Parrish(Hunter,Chow and Asham allow that) and a young prospect or a Paps/Wein or pick for a Gauthier or a Vitaly Vishnesvki.Again wheter their rumored to go it's just what we need. Don't think Cal wants Parrish's salary but even swap for Gauthier would be nice. Anahiem how about Parrish and a 4th for Vitaly?

In a sec.If sergei was mention w/ something well then maybe Parrish and Bates plus a late pick(5th or 6th) should more then surffice.I'm not even sure the pick would be required but as a sweetener to push deal then fine. Oneil is for real and is a gritty foward who can score big time.Would be a huge deal and would give us 2 BIGTIME power fowards.Hunter and Oneil!!!!!!

I'd love to add Witt's Grit.And yes we will be unable to sign all 5 of them.As the d stands now we will not resign 1 of our top 3 of Aucoin(he's staying for sure),Hammer and Janne.IMO I think Janne will be the odd man out.Now that Tampa has fallen away only St Loius has expressed interest in Hammer.How about Hammer for Pronger.How about everybody on this board mail me 100$.How about the Rags win a stanley cup.Which one has the greatest chance of happening? I think Janne will go in a 3 team deal to Edm either at deadline or more likely over the summer.

Asham and Bates for Gauthier in a nano sec and thats fast.Then turn around and move Janne to replace Asham/Bates for a a higher quality winger. Defense of Aucoin/Gauthier(giving Aucoin room to play O!!!) Hammer/Martinek Jonsson/Carins and down the stretch rotate Carins out for clutch minute time. Then use Janne for a Smtyh/Havalt/type.Not saying who but he should bring back a valuable foward given the right deal.Even if it had to be a three way deal with edm.

Gradin ouch.Not sure it's as bad as you say b/c if they held Smyth in that high of regard then he would never be on the block.Maybe it's a little short on our end but not nearly as bad as you elude to.Janne has more value then Brewer.Thats simple.Now Paps a 2nd and Chow(throw in Maple or if necess Berg instead of Chow) for Smyth doesn't seem to far off.If Berg were thrown in I'd pull the 2nd back.If there goner $$$$ dump then thats what their likey to receive.Odds are strong they will never resign Smyth with the money he's going to want.Rags deals aside we dealt an uproven 1st rounder(though thought of as a good prospect,Torres) and a chump(Izzy) who maybe Edm thought they could rebuild for a 27 year old ALLSTAR defensemen.Problem is he's been less then stellar here.Smtyh is a Good player who had earlier had Allstar years but has been underwhelming for sometime now. IMO it doesn't seem to far stretched.... Though I would never make it I don't need to $$$ dump or "rebuild" if thats edm's idea.

brewer and Smyth for Janne, Paps,Chow and a 2nd rounder next year. Edm replaces Smyth with Chow and potential in Paps. Janne replaces Brewer both in play(plus they LOVE him) and in future $$$$ and play/potential. Edm adds pick for Smyth for Chow/Paps unequalness. Isles replace Janne who doesn't want to be here with Brewer.$$$ will even out between their contracts. Paps and Chow will turn into possible Big time sniper for Yash or Peca in Smyth plus his proven PP production.He has struggled since Weight departure though.$$$$ will be the stumbling block here and Wang will have to eat it if he wants Isles to step into top ten teams. Our 2nd is softened by added picks last year as well as a team that has talent to win now and youthful skilled players(Hunter,Dp,Wein) and added Brewer and Berg and Nilsson plus 2 russians. Plus Edm saves $$$$$$$.Lots of it. If Scatch and Janne would turn into Brewer and Smyth I'd want 2nd back from Edm but on paper that sounds fair.I then would rather just swap Janne for Brewer plus a 5th from Edm.Janne's def more proven and has much better numbers and is only 2 years his senior.

Parrish is a 22-26 goal scorer thats all at this time.Take out the best and the worst years and he avgs around 20..Sorry not 30..Though I wish..Could he score 30?Yeah!Is he a 30 goal scorer?Nah!
